About Me:
I'm enjoying outrageous degree of freedom - cultivating wisdom and compassion through self development and consciousness research. Specifically, my interest in the area of consciousness includes meditation, primarily methods designed to resolve the disorienting and painful apparent experience of duality and confused identity. The teachings and students of Richard Rose got me into this work, which has led me to primarily to the tools of Theravaden Buddhist Vipassana meditation. Also Douglas Harding's headless technique, Gurdjieff's self remembering, Ramana Maharshi's “Who Am I?” inquiry, and Sri Nisargadatta and Adyashanti's similar perspectives come to mind. I am influenced heavily by the NCSU chaper of the Self Knowledge Symposium in Raleigh, NC, the TAT Foundation based on the teachings of Richard Rose, and most of all, vipassana with an emphasis on the three characteristics as taught by Daniel Ingram. I appreciate what I think I understand the intention to be of Andrew Cohen, though I am a bit unclear how his work relates to my goal. In addition to trying to crack the riddle of Who Am I once and for all, I am interested in developing a full, and happy life of wisdom and beauty. I am exploring work in binaural beats and biofeedback, and other systems for consciousness training. I have an interest in human energy cultivation and control. Currently trained in a few Qi Gong techniques (Chunyi Lin, Michael Winn, Peter Ragnar) and Quantum touch, I hope to further my understanding and level of mastery in the energetic “arts.” I love yoga, Tibetan Five Rites of Rejeuvenation, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen's work, though my training is minimal. I am fascinated with living raw foods, and superfoods. I eat about a 95% raw diet, working on 100%. After years of stressful living, spending much of my life exhausted or at low levels of functionality, I devote a great deal of energy into maintaining a balanced life to support my travel-heavy, spontaneous, occasionally extreme lifestyle. I am interested in self reliant living, imagining some sort of mountaintop or otherwise beautiful chunk of land with a house I've built and maintain myself for my research and visitors. Algae oil for biodiesel, passive energy devices, and very experimental alternative energy projects based on orgone or free energy theoretical models are also of great interest, to experiment with someday. I am developing some way to share my work as my business in the near future.
“People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I think that what we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” - Joseph Campbell
